What Nemesis does

Nemesis is opt-in productivity software for macOS. It monitors your active app, window, browser context, and sometimes a screenshot only while a focus session is running. No focus session, no monitoring.

Permissions

Accessibility permission lets Nemesis identify the active app, window title, and browser URL during focus sessions. Screen Recording permission lets Nemesis capture a screenshot when context is too vague to classify distraction reliably. These permissions are used for focus enforcement, not background surveillance.

Data handling

Release builds do not store screenshots, URLs, window titles, goals, or roast text on Nemesis servers. Screenshots are used transiently when needed for distraction classification and are not retained by Nemesis.

Processors

Nemesis uses Vercel for backend hosting, OpenRouter for classification and roast generation, Fish Audio for text-to-speech, Replicate as an audio fallback, Polar for checkout and subscription management, Upstash/Vercel KV for subscription status caching, and GitHub Releases for app downloads.

Payments

Polar handles payment details, invoices, cancellations, and subscription management. Nemesis does not process or store card numbers.
